My name is Joe Ryan. I am from Baltimore MD.

I am a proud father of four (two boys and two girls)

I am currently and have been a reinforcing Ironworker for 23 years.

I am 36 years young and have gained a passion for Linux and programming over the last few years. After attending a local college and getting a degree in networking information systems I planned on working as a Windows sysadmin but unfortunately with my level of income needs I could not make the money I needed to support my family so I returned to being an Ironworker foreman. I bought in to the lie that Windows certifications and desire would get me the money I needed unfortunatley that was not the case.

I plan to take my time learning programming and Unix/Linux kernel /systems programming. I desire to be a free software hacker and I believe that one day God-willing I will be able to be financially supported by such.

That is my ultimate goal at this time. If anyone out there desires to have a very motivated newbie help with their project drop me a comment.
